Who am I?

I am an author and publisher, trading under my own name in the United Kingdom.

I am the data controller and am responsible for the security of the data that you provide and for overall compliance with data protection legislation.

How do I collect information from you?

I will collect your contact details when you sign up to my mailing list through my website or specifically and clearly ask me to be add you to the mailing list.

In order to send the agreed emails to you, I work with Mailchimp, who provide software which helps me manage my mailing list. When you sign up to my mailing list, they act as data processors for me and only process personal information in line with my instructions.

What information do I collect?

I will collect your name and email address, and, in some cases, any genre preferences or other information needed to provide you with more relevant emails.

How is your information used?

I rely on your consent to store and process the personal information that I collect.

Your name and contact details will be stored on my mailing list on the Mailchimp online marketing platform. I will use your information to keep you updated with new releases, special offers, free content, interesting opportunities, enjoyable conversations, or other notifications you have signed up to receive.

How long will I hold your information?

I will keep your contact details on my mailing list until you wish to unsubscribe from receiving communications from me.

You can unsubscribe at any time by:

  • by clicking on the unsubscribe link which appears at the bottom of all newsletters I send.

Who has access to your information?

Only I can access my secure mailing list.

I will not sell or rent your information to third parties, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Keeping your personal information secure

I have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way.

I limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

I also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach.

I will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where I am legally required to do so.
