I’m quite sleepy today: almost entirely because a couple of times during last night Una decided to check whether I was awake by poking me in the face. Which reminded me of the studies into whether cats feel love. This video by Neuro Transmissions provides a reasonable précis.
However, I feel the axiom might be wrong: instead of a cat’s love for a human is the same as a baby’s love for a caregiver, could it be the other way around? After all, caregivers become distressed if they lose sight of their baby and might linger closer upon their return.
Or perhaps Una is the scientist, testing my reaction to being woken up.
Whichever is true, she’s considerably less annoying than the pile-driver that’s been operating on the building site next door for the whole day.
