I was only a two scenes from the end of Inner Beauty, so today has mostly been about that. However, I did also catch up on some bookmarked videos, including another fine episode of Simon Cantan’s Nitty Gritty of Writing.
None of my cutting-up and brainstorming produced a title that worked better for the story than Inner Beauty. But it did produce several alternatives that would have worked well, in much less time than it took me to come up with Inner Beauty.
There are no urban fantasy novels with the same title. However, there are (unsurprisingly) several romance novels that have the phrase in the title. So I am taking a few days to ponder whether they are close enough to be a real issue.
How clever do you expect fiction titles to be? If you write, how do you invent your titles?
